Our game, Pac-Man 256, takes the infamous ‘glitch’ level of Pac-Man and builds upon this to become a unique game that retains the retro spirit of the original." "It is an incredible honor to be able to contribute to one of the most iconic video game franchises in history. "Playing Pac-Man in a seaside arcade in 1980 is one of my earliest memories," Hipster Whale director Matthew Hall said when it was first announced. In the mobile game this garbled text becomes a wave of death constantly bearing down on Pac-Man, who must navigate the maze to escape it while collecting pellets and avoiding ghosts. During this stage the right hand side of the maze becomes a jumble of text and numbers. The game's name is based on an infamous glitch in the 256th level of the Pac-Man arcade game. The game was originally released for iOS and Android devices in August 2015 but, according to a Taiwan Game Software Rating Regulations Board list-as spotted by Twitter user Lifelower-will be made available on more platforms. Pac-Man 256, an endless maze runner developed by Hipster Whale, has been rated for a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC release.
